Abstracts of Current Research:- Difference and Functional-Differential Equations, Special Functions and Self-Structuring Phenomena.: The project is concerned with differential, difference and and functionalequations with rescaling. The importance of such equations is beingincreasingly recognised, as is their relevance to a number of applicationsareas: orthogonal polynomials and special functions; spectral theory ofSchroedinger operators; dynamics of spatial-temporal structures;approximation with wavelets and multiwavelets.
- Functional equations, Dynamical Systems and their Applications.: The main topic of the project is the interface betweendynamical systems and functional or functional-differential equations.Applications to substitution dynamical systems, Schilling`s functionalequation and divide-and-conquer recurrences are studied, as well.
