Abstracts of Current Research:- Territorial Dimensions of a two state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.: This project examines the territorial and geographical aspects of the Israel-Palestine peace process. It focuses on issues of boundary demercation, the role of territory in determining security and strategic claims, and the impact of settlement on the changing landscape of the West Bank. It also examines the relationship between the demarcation of territorial boundaries and the formation of identity boundaries between Israelis and Palestinians.
- International Boundaries: The Changing role and function of boundaries in a postmodern world.: This project, partly carried out in association with Finnish geographer Anssi Paasi, examines the changing role and function of boundaries in a postmodern world. It examines the role of boundaries in light of the postmodern discourse which has suggested the end of the nation state and the removal of boundaries. The project focuses on the multi-dimensional aspect of boundaries, bringing together the social, political and territorial dimensions of boundaries into a single frame of analysis.
- Geopolitics and de territorialization: The project seeks to examine the nature of the changing world political map as it ia sfefcetd by globalization. the basic thesis is to reject notions of a deterritorialized world or a ``world without borders``, focusing on the way in which the world political map is udnergoing continual territorial reconfiguration.
